Panasonic parent Matsushita Electric Industrial Co plans to start selling the world's largest plasma television by early next year.

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Freescale has announced that they've gone into volume production of a 4Mbit (256K x 16-bit) MRAM chip. The newly announced MR2A16A MRAM part had been in development for a decade and was sampled back in 2004. It has already attracted a number of buyers and is expected to start showing up in products soon.

Before Freescale, Motorola was also reported covering a couple of Motorola demonstrations of working MRAM chips. At the time, IBM, Infineon, Motorola, and the legion of twenty or so other companies that have been working on this technology were projecting that the first MRAM products would hit the market in 2004.

It has been announced by IBM that Lotus Notes will now be available on Linux, as part of the industry's first business-grade collaboration software to support Linux on the desktop.

The Lotus Notes 7.0 client has been designed to run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 3. Lotus Notes on Linux is scheduled for release on July 24, and around 90 days therewith, a version for Novell's SuSE Enterprise Linux Desktop 10 will also be delivered to customers. However, no additional cost will be charged for the use of Notes on Linux, for currently licensed Notes users.
