G.J. Kinney brought Tulsa with seven points by hitting Slick Shelley with a 55-yard scoring throw midway through the fourth period and the Golden Hurricane twice regained the ball with a chance to either tie the contest or win it with a touchdown and a two-point conversion.

The first of those possessions ended with a punt from the Tulsa 39 with 4:28 remaining. Tulsa got it back with 1:49 to go, taking over at its own 35 with no time outs left.

The Hurricane failed to pick up a first down, but had a great chance on fourth down when receiver Charles Clay broke open behind the Boise State defense. Kinney's throw toward Clay bounced in front of the intended receiver, however, turning the ball over to the Broncos.

Boise State overcame an early deficit when Moore hit Tommy Gallarda with an 8-yard touchdown pass, after which the Broncos successfully went for a two-point conversion.

The Broncos rallied again on Moore's 17-yard throw to Austin Pettis with 11:03 left in the first half and found Gallarda again with a 2-yard touchdown toss with 9:44 to go in the third period.

Boise State (6-0) took a 28-14 lead into the fourth quarter and advanced the ball no farther than the Tulsa 42 during the final period.

The only other loss for Tulsa (4-2) this year has been a 45-0 blasting at the hands of Oklahoma, currently ranked 18th.
