Simpson to explore a ‘weighty’ issue on TV

Los Angeles, May 28: Jessica Simpson, who was recently lashed by the media for her excessive weight, will soon take to the small screen mulling over the way society scrutinizes women’s bodies.

Simpson will soon travel around the world, exploring the standards of beauty set by the society

In a world obsessed with bodily perfection and doll-like figures, most women will agree that being overweight is considered akin to blasphemy. With desk jobs and sedentary lifestyles adding undesirable pounds to our bodies, the sizes are undoubtedly getting bigger.

Simpson, curves and quest for beauty
The singer/actress is set to star in a reality show titled ‘The Price of Beauty’, which will have Simpson and a friend travel around the world, exploring the standards of beauty set by the society.

The two will "set off on a road trip around the world in search of what people find beautiful and why,” according to an anonymous source.

"Jessica is indeed working on a new show, but network details have not been finalized at this time,” a rep for the singer reportedly told US Weekly.

Simpson, who famously appeared on ‘Newlyweds’ series with her ex-husband Nick Lachey, has herself been the target of harsh criticism for her fuller figure. Though the former reality star managed to deal with it with an amazing poise, many women across the world easily fall prey to society’s disapproval of their curves and take to various beauty treatments.

While on the show, Simpson will even try some of “the shocking things that women do to make themselves beautiful. Picture ‘Fear Factor’”.

Simpson, who recently graced the cover of ‘Vanity Fair’ magazine, has probably accepted that media (or the society?) can be callous towards curvaceous women.

Talking about those fault-finding concert photos and the criticism of her fluctuating weight that has haunted her throughout her career, the singer says, "It comes with what I do. And I know that every day the media's going to challenge me."

People in this news:

Excessive Weight

I have this "hormone problem". If I overeat I gain weight. I control myself at 30 pounds underweight, and my women damn well better control themselves.
You can travel the world looking for excuses to overeat but the fact remains: Fat's ugly. Get used to it. There will never be acceptance of UGLY.
