Shirtless Levi Johnston shows off son Tripp in GQ magazine

In a photo-spread, to be published in the June issue of GQ, Johnston poses shirtless with his infant son Tripp. He is also shown changing Tripp’s diaper in one of the pictures.

Johnston became an instant celebrity when he fathered a child with Bristol, the daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate. Bristol gave birth to their baby on Dec. 27.

Johnston and Plain were high school sweethearts, who planned to wed after graduating, but the two called it off earlier this year.

The 19-year-old told the magazine in an interview posted on its Web site Thursday that his relations with his ex sweetheart Bristol, 18, and her family are improving. He said the Palins aren't "lying when they say that things are better."

But, at the same time, Johnston complained that the Palins were limiting his access to his son Tripp, since the couple broke off their engagement. The young dad also revealed how his life as a teenaged dad had become rough after the birth of the baby, especially when the fights became common between him and Bristol.

"Just going over there makes me pretty damn uncomfortable," Johnston said of his visits to the Palin house to see his son Tripp. "Just going over there, and Todd and Sarah sitting there staring at me, doesn't do it for me. Todd never says anything, really. Sarah, I don't know.

“She's a politician. She knows how to throw in a fake smile and look happy. They're pretty good at that."

Johnston also revealed that Bristol’s parents played the key role in the break-of his relationship with Bristol. "I know that her parents didn't want us together. I really don't think they did. So they probably put a little pressure on her.

“But at the same time, they told us they wanted us to get married when they found out Bristol was pregnant."

In the GQ article, Johnston also claimed that Sarah’s husband, Todd Palin, promised daughter Bristol a new car if she broke off the relationship with Johnston.

Johnston also indicated that he's dating again. "There's lots of pretty girls," he said.

Johnston and Bristol came in the limelight ever since word of Bristol’s pregnancy started doing the rounds during Palin’s Republican vice presidential nomination.

Later, the two again hit the headlines after they broke up their engagement, and then once again when Bristol made talk-show rounds as a budding activist for the prevention of teen pregnancies.
