Some suspected cases
Besides the above confirmed cases, there is also another suspected case in Franklin County. The person is a female student at Ohio State University. The girl lives in Morrison Tower and reported to the Ohio State University Medical Center with symptoms of the raging flu. As a precaution, she was secluded from others on the campus premises.

Another probable case of H1N1 is a male student who lives in Canfield Hall. Though the student is on the road to recovery, he is cut off from the other residents.

Last week, the CDC had confirmed an Ohio State freshman who lives in Stradley Hall as a H1N1 positive. However, the university officials admitted there was no apparent connection between the two students.

The state of Illinois has 592 confirmed cases of the flu, closely followed by Wisconsin, which has 496. Texas has reported 293 cases, California 221 and New York 211.

The number of confirmed cases was 3009 in 45 states as of Tuesday. Although the influenza has been considerably mild, with only three deaths, the CDC officials are anticipating the flu to spread to all 50 states.
About A/H1N1 or swine flu
Swine Flu, a strain of the influenza virus, is primarily associated with pigs. The 2009 virus is believed to have originated in Mexico with one strain of human influenza virus, one strain of avian influenza virus, and two separate strains of swine influenza virus.

The outbreak has created quite a frenzy around the world, with the World Health Organization (WHO) issuing a Level Five warning, one level short of a pandemic.
