Prejean, a Christian college student, had first stirred national controversy when she made highly publicized comments opposing same-sex marriage at the April 19 Miss USA pageant.
Later, she added fuel to the flames originated from her stance against gay marriage by joining a television ad campaign to protect what she described as "opposite marriage" (that between a man and a woman). Prejean appears in a television ad campaign funded by the National Organization for Marriage (NOM), an organization committed to opposing homosexual marriage.
But the controversies don’t end here. The buzz is that Miss California now faces the threat of being stripped off her title.
Rumors running rampant all over the Internet that officials of Miss California USA are looking into whether or not title holder Carrie Prejean infringed her contract by being affiliated with a national group that opposes same-sex marriage and by posing nude.
Details of the photos
Scantily clad pictures of the 21-year-old Miss California when she was a teen-ager began doing the rounds on the Internet late Monday night, first posted at the gossip Web site TheDirty.com.
One photo features the beauty queen clad only in a racy pair of pink panties. In the photo, the topless model is shown covering her breasts with her hands, with her back facing the camera. The celebrity gossip Web site claims it has five more photos of Prejean, some of which are more explicit.
Prejean defends herself
Now, Prejean has come forward to defend her image. Responding to the online leakage of her old photo, gorgeous Prejean said that she was only 17 when the photograph was taken, and that the shot was meant to be used in a portfolio.
"I am a Christian, and I am a model," Carrie said yesterday. "Models pose for pictures including lingerie and swimwear photos."
In response to the photo, the beauty queen said: "Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith."
"I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be," she added. "These attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others' opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks."
Regardless of what anyone
Regardless of what anyone might say to defend her Christian values, my feeling is that anyone who is asked a question and then is torn apart because they gave a truthful response is a victim. Most gay people I know believe you have a right to your opinion as long as your respect that they have the same right.
But let's not attack the gay community here as it's not the gay community who is doing this. It's the self righteous bleeding heart white bread Americans who think they govern what we think and what we say.
Look at the swine flu and how after Mexico's national health services dropped the ball, the people of Mexico and their President slammed the doors and quarantined themselves. But how did we in the US react? We did the opposite. We flung the doors open and anyone trying to say we should quarantine or restrict travel from or to Mexico was branded a racist. If the people of Mexico took the appropriate actions because they realised they were fighting a disease...why couldn't we. Thank whatever God you worship that the swine flu was a joke as these bleeding heart white bread jackasses could have caused millions of deaths in this country if it truly had been like the Spanish Flu of 1918 as the media was trying to scare us into thinking it was.
So what if Miss Prejean bared a little skin. What are these social elite snobs doing stripping them down in bikini's and nightgowns doing? What's exposing their bodies got to do with anything? Oh yeah right, beauty...just do it for us baby and since we're not allowed to show the goodies we'd really like you to be showing, no one else can either.
Seriously, if the Miss USA and Miss America pageants could strip these women completely down, I think they would. I'm still waiting for the woman who has the nerve to rip off her bikini during the pageant and say "If ya wanna see skin, here it is"!
These people should be ashamed of themselves for what they've done but in the end, Miss Prejean will have the final laugh as this is going to make her rich and famous. So maybe it's not so bad these bleeding heart social elitists are trying to make her out to be so evil and deny her the right to a truthful opinion...I wish they would do that to me if I could get the same result of becoming rich and famous ;P
What has happened to my country?
I don't believe that Ms. Prejean best exemplifies the Christian ideal, but I do believe that she has every right to hold her opinion without begin demonized. Her opinion is the opinion of the majority of Califonians and the president of the United States.
The homosexual movement in this nation has moved beyond a desire for civil rights. They are now the thought police, in league with the MSM to force Americans to rejoice in a behavior and lifestyle that our forefathers universally rejected as unhealthy and destructive to our culture.
Maybe every religious culture for the past 5000 years and the majority of Americans are wrong, but Ms. Prejean should not be destroyed by the media for holding to the opinion of the majority of Americans and the faith of our forefathers.
