Draw ‘on’ Your Presentations with Afterglow

Afterglow launches the innovative and useful Laser Pointer Presentation Assist System in US.

Afterglow's latest innovation, Laser Pointer now available in US

Afterglow, a Tokyo based company and the winner of the low-cost Microsoft Innovation Award of 2007, announced the availability of its innovative product, the Laser Pointer Presentation Assist System, in US.

The co-Founder and CEO of Afterglow, Kinya Tagawa, said, "We're excited to be selling to US customers. During this economic downturn when travel budgets have been heavily affected, there's more focus than ever around squeezing the most information into presentations.

This is a simple tool to make that possible. It's a great way to stand out and capture the information given during a presentation for all to see."

Afterglow provides the facility to draw, annotate or write directly on what is being presented on the screen with the help of the laser pointer.

Though it seems that Afterglow is meant primarily for business presentations, the company claims that it can be used for the following purposes as well:

1. Afterglow can be useful for web conferences wherein, with the help of the laser, the party at the other end can know the position of the laser pointer.

2. Afterglow can display photos, maps, videos and other property and resources on the TV.

3. It can be used for large theater style presentations where multiple displays are used.

4. Can cover any event or a large gathering and project and draw what is to be conveyed by artists or advertisers at long ranges or on any uneven surface.

The complete set of Afterglow includes: Green Laser Pointer 532nm <1mW Class 2 (with 2 AAA Batteries), Afterglow Software CD with license for one computer, USB CCD camera with removable lens, 6ft USB cable and a tripod.

The company is looking for some early momentum by keeping the offer price at $1980 which would be then raised to $4980.

ABC News

I just saw a video of this on ABC News. Looks like a pretty cool product.

I think at the $2000 price point the main market will probably end up being TV and not the office.
