 <p>According to Simpson's representative Lauren Auslander, the 27-year-old singer-actress checked herself into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Friday with symptoms of minor kidney infection, and after staying under observation through the weekend she was released on Monday.</p>
<p>Simpson "has been released and is doing fine," the rep said.</p>
<p>The blonde star’s Dallas Cowboys quarterback boyfriend Tony Romo was reportedly not with her in the hospital as he had prior professional commitments in Dallas. Even her sister Ashlee who was in L.A. was not present in the hospital instead she spent most of Saturday at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards.</p>
<p>Rumor mills earlier this month began churning out stories that the celebrity couple recently became engaged. However, both Simpson and Romo, whose relationship has been a major media focus in recent months, have denied the reports. </p>
<p>Earlier this month, the blonde beauty took a brief trip to Iraq where she performed for the U.S. troops as a part of the Operation MySpace. The pop diva and the heartthrob of many is currently working diligently on a country music album. </p>
<p>Born on July 10 1980, Simpson got her start singing on the Christian youth conference circuit, then became a mainstream hit with the 1999 pop album Sweet Kisses. She then released her own line of Dessert Beauty and Dessert Treat beauty products and started a career as an actress, while continuing her music career. Since then, her career has sky rocketed.</p>
<p>Simpson tied the holy knot with Lachey on 26 October 2002, and announced their separation in November 2005. On 29 August 2006 Jessica revealed her love for singer John Mayer and confirmed her relationship with him. Fabricated stories have even linked her to Jared Leto and comedian Dane Cook.</p>
