Mumbai -- After registering positive bias in the opening trade today, the market has been witnessing range-bound moves. In the late morning trade the BSE Sensex has traded at 12,113.47, up 42.17 points, and the Nifty was up 6.15 points or 0.18% at 3498.9.
And, out of the aggregate 2366 stocks, 1215 were trading well while 1062 were declining. The remaining 89 stocks remained unchanged.
Gainers on the index include Satyam which buoyed up 2.10% to Rs. 840.50, Dr. Reddy`s which advanced 1.73% to trade at Rs. 767.80 and Reliance Comm inched up 1.50% to Rs. 331.60. Ranbaxy, Hindalco and Tata Steel were the other gainers.
Laggards on the BSE Sensex were HDFC, down 1.35% at Rs. 1348, HDFC Bank that slid by 0.60% to Rs. 875.90, Cipla gave up 0.44% to Rs. 259.20. Other losers include Reliance Energy, SBI and Tata Motors.
On the other hand, top gainers on the Nifty are Reliance Comm. up 1.72% and MTNL up 1.68%. And the top losers on the Nifty are Jet Airways down 1.44% and PNB down 1.05%.
Aluminium, steel and energy stocks are gaining momentum while auto and banking stocks witnessed profit booking.
