Mumbai -- Though the share index is off its intra-day high, but it is still in the positive . FMCG, engineering and pharma stocks are witnessing positivity, while profit booking continued in select software and auto stocks. At 2:37pm, the BSE Sensex was trading at 12,052.49, up 42.90 points.
Out of 2508 stocks, 1265 are surging higher, 1160 are declined while 83 stocks remained unchanged.
Among the cement stocks, Prism Cement (up 2.2 per cent), Chettinad Cement (up 1.6 per cent), JK Cements (up 1.3 per cent), Saurashtra Cement (up 1.2 per cent) and Madras Cements (up 0.9 per cent) are trading in positive terrain.
In the sugar space, Ponni Sugars, Bajaj Hindustan, KM Sugars, Balrampur Chini, Dhampur Sugar, Sakthi Sugar, Bannari Amman, Shree Renuka Sugars and Dwarikesh Sugar are trading firm.
Goodricke Group (up 2.5 per cent), Williamson Magor (up 1.6 per cent), Warren Tea (up 1.3 per cent), Jayshree Tea (up 1.1 per cent) and McLoed Russel (up 0.6 per cent) are among the tea pack who also gained ground.
On contrary, ICICI Bank down 1.20% to rule at Rs. 639.50, Tata Motors dipped by 1.19% to Rs. 859.30 and Tata Steel faded by 0.97% to Rs. 499.50. Other losers on the BSE sensex include Satyam, TCS and Bajaj Auto.
