Rome -- Formula One leader McLaren has publicly accused rival Ferrari of winning the Australian Grand Prix with an illegal part on their car.

The company said it does not dispute the fact that Ferrari won, but just wants to point out to Formula One's governing body, the FIA, that the car had an illegal floor device on it, Italy's ANSA reported Thursday. McLaren Lewis Hamilton of England and Spain's Fernando Alonso, have been swapping the No.1 position this season. Both are scheduled for the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend.

Mooresville, N.C. -- DEI Enterprises and Ginn Racing Wednesday completed a merger that creates a new four-car team on the U.S. Nextel Cup auto racing circuit.

Effective immediately, the new team includes the Chevrolets of Paul Menard, Martin Truex Jr., Dale Earnhardt Jr., Mark Martin and Aric Almirola -- with Martin and Almirola combining to drive Ginn's No.1 Army Chevrolet for the remainder of the 2007 season and into 2008.

Joliet, Ill. -- Tony Stewart Sunday crossed the finish line before Matt Kenseth to win the Nextel Cup's USG Sheetrock 400 at the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill.

Stewart's No.20 Home Depot Chevrolet beat Kenseth's Ford by 1.727 seconds.

It was Stewart's first victory of the season and the 30th of his Nextel Cup career.

"The Home Depot guys (pit crew) won us the race today," said Stewart. "They got us the track position we needed ... . Being out front, being in clean air was everything."

Joliet, Ill. -- Kevin Harvick won Saturday's USG Durock 300 Busch Series race at the Chicagoland Speedway, finishing 1.012 seconds ahead of Matt Kenseth.

The victory was Harvick's third of the season and 29th of his Busch career.

Denny Hamlin won his fourth pole of the season earlier in the day in a 43-car field.

Harvick led his first laps of the afternoon when he got around Jeff Burton with 27 laps to go. and then maintained his margin during the final laps.

London -- British researchers say male drivers are more likely than female drivers to view their cars as an extension of themselves.

The study, "The Secret Life of Cars and What They Reveal About Us," said men's connections to their cars explain why they are more likely than women to drive with a relaxed posture and only one hand on the wheel, The Telegraph reported Friday.

London -- Kimi Raikkonen captured the Formula One British Grand Prix Formula One race Sunday at Silverstone, England.

His No. 6 Ferrari crossed the finish line 2.459 seconds ahead of Fernando Alonso (McLaren).

The victory was Raikkonen's third of the season and 12th of his F1 career.

"We had a good car all weekend," said Raikkonen. "Once we knew we had enough fuel, I was able to close on Lewis (Hamilton) and try to overtake him."

Daytona, Fla. -- Jamie McMurray recovered from a penalty to win Saturday night's Pepsi 400 at the Daytona International Speedway.

McMurray, driving a Ford, finished just inches ahead of Kyle Busch. The victory was McMurray's first of the season and second of his Nextel Cup career.

Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards and Jeff Gordon completed the top-five.

Daytona Beach, Fla. -- Kyle Busch beat Kevin Harvick by a car length Saturday, capturing the Busch Winn-Dixie 250 auto race at Daytona Beach, Fla.

The race at the Daytona International Speedway was run in a light rain. It was postponed Friday night because of rain.

"We should have won this thing back in February," said Busch, referring to the Nextel Cup's Daytona 500. "But it all starts here, I guess."

Loudon, N.H. -- Denny Hamlin Sunday fought off a late challenge by Jeff Gordon to win the Nextel Cup's Lenox Industrial Tools 300 at Loudon, N.H.

Hamlin's No.11 Joe Gibbs Racing Chevrolet crossed the finish line one length ahead of the four-time points champion, allowing Hamlin to record his first victory of the season and the third of his Nextel Cup career.
