Lil' Wayne cancels Rochester concert again

Rochester, N.Y -- Rapper Lil' Wayne has postponed a planned concert in Rochester, N.Y., for a third time, said the general manager of the Blue Cross Arena.

Jeff Calkins told the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle that the cancellation of Wednesday night's show marked the third time the recording artist has backed out of his scheduled gig at the venue. He scrapped an Oct. 26 performance, complaining about the venue's inferior sound system, even though Calkins said he had never been inside the arena. The concert was rescheduled for Dec. 6, then postponed to Wednesday, but that show was canceled, too, and has yet to be rescheduled.

Edward Strickland, general manager of RMF Productions, the show's local promoter, told the newspaper Lil' Wayne's national booking agent, Ujaama Talent Agency, is blaming the "logistics of his band" for the rapper's latest cancellation. However, no details about the alleged problems have been offered.

The entertainment industry trade newspaper said the role of the actress in her younger years has not been cast yet.

Loren, 74, previously played both herself and her mother in the 1980 NBC TV movie, "Sophia Loren: Her Own Story." She will soon be seen on the big-screen in the musical "Nine."

Neeson: Lincoln project still in the works

New York -- Liam Neeson says he still hopes to play former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln in a movie to be helmed by his "Schindler's List" director Steven Spielberg.

"It's in the works," the Northern Irish actor told reporters about the Lincoln project while promoting his new thriller "Taken" in New York recently.

"(Spielberg) asked me four years ago, would I do it. I said, 'Let me think about it.' And I did and I said: 'I've thought about it. Yes,'" Neeson recalled.

Asked if he has been doing a lot of reading up on the 16th president to prepare for the role, Neeson quipped, "I'm almost an expert on Abraham Lincoln."

"But, we'll not go down there because there's over 2,000 books written on him. There's one coming out at the moment, every month, this being his bicentennial this year," the actor added. "It's crying out to be told -- what went into the formation of the United States. It's an extraordinary story. But it's in the works and (Spielberg) will do it, I'm sure, when he's ready. I mean, he developed 'Schindler's List' for 10 years."
