Mumbai -- The markets have registered a sturdy opening led by buying in heavy weights like ACC, HLL, VSNL, Reliance Industries, TISCO, SAIL and M&M. The NSE Nifty has touched 3k mark. At 9:59 am (IST), the BSE 30-sahre Sensex has added 120 points at 10345 and the NSE 50-share Nifty is up by 33 points at 3027.

Global cues are positive to start with. US stocks bounced back after oil prices dropped amid anticipations for a cease-fire in the Mideast. The Dow Jones was up 51.87 points at 10,799.23 while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 increased 2.37 points to 1,236.86. The NASDAQ added 5.50 points to close at 2,043.22.

Asian stocks barked a six-day slide after oil fell to a one-week low. Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average gained 1.3% in morning hours. Taiwan's Taiex index rose 1% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index added 0.5%. As a matter of fact except for China and New Zealand, most other indices in Asia are up.

At 10:07 am (IST), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has gained by 1.1% to Rs. 1853. The company on Tuesday posted their Q1 result with profit at Rs. 863 crore ( or 8.63bn, up 33.4%) from Rs. 795.78 crore (Rs 7.95 bn) quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), revenue at Rs. 4,144 crore ( or Rs. 41.44bn, up 29%) versus Rs 3,732.4 crore (Rs 37.32 bn) QoQ, and to pay Rs. 3 a share as dividend.

The scrip has touched a high of Rs. 1895 and a low of Rs. 1844 and has recorded volumes of over 2 lakh shares on NSE. The company added 62 new clients and hired ~7,095 staff in Q1.

At 10:15 am (IST), Jubilant Organosys has gained by 1.5% to Rs. 213. The company on Tuesday declared their Q1 result with profit at Rs. 46.1 crore ( Rs. 461mn, up 116%) from Rs. 21.3 crore (Rs 213mn), sales at Rs. 412.4 crore (Rs 4.12bn, up 26%) from Rs 326.7 crore (Rs 3.26 billion). The scrip has touched a high of Rs. 220 and a low of Rs. 210.

At 10:17 am (IST), Simplex Infrastructures has gained by 1% to Rs. 1245. The company yesterday secured an order from AAI worth Rs. 1.1bn. The scrip has touched a high of Rs. 1248 and a low of Rs. 1245.
