Los Angeles, March 3: Sharon Osbourne is being sued by a former reality TV contestant over an altercation on her reality TV show ‘Rock of Love Charm School’.
Megan Hauserman, a former contestant on the VH1 TV show has accused Osbourne of pulling her hair, hitting and scratching her, according to the lawsuit filed at Los Angeles Superior Court.
Osbourne, 56, has been sued for battery, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Hauserman, 27, had appeared on the show’s reunion episode last December, where she was allegedly attacked by Osbourne for tossing slur on her husband. The whole nation watched the incident on national television on Jan. 4, 2009 and the video is still doing the rounds on internet.
Hauserman's lawyer Warren J Binder said, "It's pretty hard to deny what happened on the video. We look forward to our day in court".
Besides emotional pain and suffering, Hauserman claims to have suffered physical and mental injuries and now seeks punitive damages and a jury trial. Also, she demands compensation for past, present and future medical expenses, loss of earning capacity and business opportunities.
According to the lawsuit filed on Monday, Hauserman was "grievously and permanently injured and hurt in her health, strength and activity" and "will be prevented from attending to any occupation in the future".
Hauserman, the winner of the 3rd season of ‘Beauty and the Geek’, got eliminated in episode four of ‘Rock of Love: Charm School’ after a bitter clash with eventual winner Brandi Mahon. During the reunion special on December 13, 2008, Hauserman insulted Osbourne by saying that she was only famous for managing her "brain-dead rock star" husband, Ozzy.
The furious host rushed to the stage and held the unseemly contestant by the hair until security stepped in to separate them. Hauserman was quickly taken off-stage while the audience clearly sided with the British icon.
Phone calls and emails seeking comment on the lawsuit were not returned by Osbourne.
