Los Angeles, February 22: Mike Myers’ ‘The Love Guru’ was a favorite among the voters of Razzie Awards, which are intended to mock the biggest flops of Hollywood.

The satiric Razzies are given out each year on the eve of the world's top film honors, the Oscars.

While the red carpets are rolled out and stars pick their stylish outfits as Hollywood prepares for its most glamorous evening, there will be some, who might want to shun the excitement. It’d be nice if some people can be a sport and take all that mockery in good spirit.

‘The Love Guru’ was awarded the Razzie for being the worst picture of 2008 and Myers, who played the title role, was named the worst actor. The comedy featuring Myers as a spiritual healer was also awarded with the Razzie for the worst screenplay of 2008. It was co-written by Myers.

Fetching only $40.8 million in global ticket sales, Myers’ ambitious movie was a huge flop at the box office.

"The main thing wrong with it is no one said to Myers that it wasn't funny," said awards founder John Wilson. "It was one of the big disasters of the year. He managed to offend the entire Indian population and his investors."

Paris Hilton was the other big award-winner at the 29th annual Golden Raspberry Awards. Hitting a rare double, the hotel heiress grabbed simultaneous prizes for being the worst actress (The Hottie & The Nottie) and worst supporting actress (Repo! The Genetic Opera).

She also won the Razzie for the worst screen couple for her low-budget romantic comedy, ‘The Hottie & The Nottie,’ which was described by Britain's Daily Mirror as a film "of monumental dreadfulness".

"Other than the fact she's infamous there's really no reason to put her in a movie," Wilson said. "I can't imagine anyone giving her billing above the title ever again."

Pierce Brosnan won the Razzie for being the worst supporting actor for ‘Mamma Mia!’ The worst-director Razzie went to Uwe Boll for three movies: ‘In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale,’ ‘1968: Tunnel Rats’ and ‘Postal.’ ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ was declared the worst ‘prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel.’
