Oops! Britney Spears got waxed again

London, February 17: Madame Tussauds on Monday unveiled a new, improved wax figure of Britney Spears at its world-famous wax museum in London. The is Spears’ second wax figure, which depicts the pop star's successful comeback.

The 27-year-old singer is already immortalized in wax at the world–renowned wax museum in London. Her first wax figure was unveiled in October 2003.

Britney’s second figure, unveiled Monday morning in London, features the pop diva wearing a sparkly silver dress with plunging neckline, and proudly holding one of the three MTV Video Music Awards she won in September 2008.

The updated wax figure of Brit with broad smile and long blonde hair looks so much like the one she did at the VMA awards.

Liz Edwards from the waxwork museum said: "We are delighted to be featuring Britney at Madame Tussauds London for the second time."

She added: "Her original figure captured a provocative pose from her 2001 Dream Within A Dream Tour and was extremely popular.”

Liz said they decided to have one more waxwork at their museum because the first one was created several years ago. For the past seven years, the onetime pop princess had been going through an extremely controversial period.

Britney rose to fame with her debut album “Baby One More Time” in 1999 which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The success of the album propelled Britney into stardom, making her one of America's biggest pop stars.

She released her second album, “Oops!...I Did It Again” in May of 2000 which went gold in its first week. In 2003, she released “In the Zone,” but by then her personal life began to gain substantially more media attention than her singing career.

Since 2001, Brit remained in news headlines for all her controversial acts, including her kiss with Madonna in the opening number for the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, her marriage to Kevin Federline in 2004 and then her break up with Kevin after two years of marriage, shaving her head as well as for her motherhood, her battle for custody of her two children and for her hospitalization due to psychological problems.

Liz said: "She's undergone a huge transformation since then and we wanted to reflect her as she is now."

Britney Spears, who is currently is on the path of rapid recovery, is ready for her upcoming Circus concert tour. She is due to travel to New Orleans on Mar. 3 to kick off a series of concerts to promote her latest album “The Circus,” a follow-up to her album Blackout. The tour ends on June 14th in London, U.K.
