After Cloris Leachman, another veteran actress Susan Lucci has become the latest casualty of the celebrity dance competition. The "All My Children" actress and her professional partner, Tony Dovolani, were voted off Wednesday night of the hit ABC competition series.
The Daytime Emmy-winning soap star received the judges' lowest score, 24 out of 30, for her paso doble routine Monday. Susan and Tony got eliminated after viewer votes were combined with the judges' scores.
"It was definitely worth it," Lucci said after the announcement of her elimination. "I just have to say, I have had the most incredible experience here. I leave with a life experience, something I will never forget. I feel so, so much gratitude for the opportunity to have had this particular experience in my lifetime."
Susan didn’t forget to offer her gratitude to her fans and her dancing partner, Tony.
“I want to thank all of you wonderful audience members here,” she said. “Thank you to all the fans who have voted and kept me here for seven weeks. Most importantly I need to thank this incredible dancer, this incredible teacher, this incredible man, Tony Dovolani.”
Taking part in DWTS was not so easy task for Susan as she had to travel back and forth between New York, where she tapes her starring role on ABC daytime drama, “All My Children,” and Los Angeles. She also injured her ankle during dancing practice.
Cody Linley and his substitute partner Edyta Sliwinska Joined Lucci in the bottom two.
Below is the list of remaining five celebrity contestants and their professional dance partners who will hit the dance floor with their performances when “DWTS” continues next week on ABC:
• Singer Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer
• Former NFL star Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson
• Olympic gold medalist Maurice Green and two-time DWTS champ Cheryl Burke
• Actor Cody Linley and Edyta Sliwinska (substitute)
• Model-actress Brooke Burke and Derek Hough
The first six couples to leave the completion were comedian Jeffrey Ross and his professional partner Edyta Sliwinska, television actor Ted McGinley and partner Inna Brayer, reality TV star Kim Kardashian and her DWTS champ partner Mark Ballasp, singer-actress Toni Braxton and her professional dance partner, Alec Mazo and Cloris Leachman and her dancing partner Corky Ballas. Olympic beach volleyball champ Misty May-Treanor was forced to drop out after she ruptured her tendon during a rehearsal.
