U.S. R&B singer Toni Braxton and her professional dance partner, Alec Mazo were the latest couple eliminated from ABC's popular dancing competition "Dancing with the Stars" on Tuesday (October 21) night.
The 42-year-old winner of six Grammy Awards received a score of 22 out of 30 from the show's judges during Monday's performance after an average West Coast swing routine.
Braxton, who suffers from a heart condition microvascular angina that affects blood flow to the heart, lost out after her Monday’s score was combined with the public votes.
"My goal was reached," said Braxton, after the announcement of her elimination. "I wanted to do better. I wanted to breathe better. And I was definitely breathing better. I've come a long way from Week One to Week Now."
“We had fun, and I'm sad it's over now, but she had a great time on this show, and I'm really proud of her," added Alec.
Toni and Alec were joined by "All My Children" icon Susan Lucci and her partner Tony Dovolani in the bottom two, while model and actress Brooke Burke and her partner Derek Hough continue to lead the pack on the seventh season of the hit ABC series. They are sharing the top spot with former NFL star Warren Sapp and his partner Kym Johnson.
"I did not expect Toni to go home," Brooke told ET after the singer’s eviction from the show. "I mean, it's hard every week, but people just need to vote. Even if we get great scores and we're dancing well, every vote makes a difference."
Below is the list of remaining seven celebrity contestants and their professional dance partners who will hit the dance floor with their performances when “DWTS” continues next week on ABC:
• Singer Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer
• Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas
• Former NFL star Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson
• Olympic gold medalist Maurice Green and two-time DWTS champ Cheryl Burke
• Actress Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani
• Actor Cody Linley and two-time DWTS champ Julianne Hough
• Model-actress Brooke Burke and Derek Hough
The first four couples to leave the show were comedian Jeffrey Ross and his professional partner Edyta Sliwinska, television actor Ted McGinley and partner Inna Brayer, reality TV star Kim Kardashian and her reigning DWTS champ partner Mark Ballasp and Chef Rocco DiSpirito, and his “Dancing” partner, Karina Smirnoff.
U.S. Olympic beach volleyball champ Misty May-Treanor had got eliminated from the show not by viewer votes or lackluster scores by judges, but due to an injury she had suffered during rehearsals.
