Jeffrey Ross,Edyta Sliwinska: First Pair Evicted From "DWTS"by Bithika Khargarhia - September 24, 2008 - 0 comments
" title="Jeffrey Ross,Edyta Sliwinska: First Pair Evicted From "DWTS"" /> Comedian Jeffrey Ross on Tuesday got evicted from the US dance competition series "Dancing with the Stars," becoming the first celebrity to be eliminated from the show. Ross got 14 points out of 30 from the judges, the lowest of the night, for his cha cha cha routine with his profession partner. Hours before Monday night's opening show Ross suffered a scratched cornea after his dancing partner, Edyta Sliwinska, accidentally poked him in the eye during a rehearsal. He was immediately rushed to the hospital. Despite doctors warning, the comedian danced in the show's season premiere Monday. He gave his performance while wearing a glittery eye patch but his cha cha cha failed to leave pleasurable effect on the judges and voting audience. Ross and his partner were shuffled off the show before they even had a chance to give their second performance. "I'm more ha ha ha than cha cha cha," Ross joked after his eviction announced. When host Tom Bergeron asked how his very short time on DWTS was, Ross joked, "What a nightmare." Then he poked fun of his eye injury and said they had told him "Edyta was going to be easy on the eyes." After Tuesday night's performances, Brooke Burke is leading with 26 out of 30 votes, followed by Cody Linley and Toni Braxton who tied with 23 out of 30 for their quicksteps. Below is the list of remaining celebrity contestants and their professional dance partners who will set the stage on fire with their performances: • Toni Braxton and season one DWTS champ Alec Mazo Another pair will be eliminated Wednesday night, leaving 11 to fight it out next week. |
