Miley Cyrus Apologizes For Poking Fun At Selena Gomez

Miley Cyrus of the “Hanna Montana” fame has offered a conditional apology to fellow Disney stars Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato for making fun of them in a YouTube video.

"If we offended them (Selena and Demi), we're super sorry," Popstar! Magazine has quoted Cyrus as saying. "We were just, like, having fun, you know what I mean?"

On their Miley & Mandy YouTube channel, the 15-year-old actress playing Hannah Montana in the hit Disney series and pal Mandy Jirox recreated a video, earlier made by Gomez- star of Disney's "Wizards of Waverly Place" and Lovato- star of "Camp Rock."

In their video, Cyrus and Jiroux mocked their Disney counterparts Gomez and Lovato, parodying the Disney stars scene-by-scene. The fun making footage shows the two making fun of a T-shirt worn by 16-year-old Gomez and a gap that Lovato, 15, used to have in her teeth.

The five minute parody of Selena Gomez on YouTube ends with the message, "Parody of: Demi Lovato & Selena Gomez. Check out our friends' YouTube!!!"

However, Cyrus maintains that she was just kidding around on her video. “That’s our thing, to be funny,” she said. “They were being funny on their show, and (besides) Elvis says imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so we were, like, imitating them. You know, like, being funny.”

Cyrus’ video clip on YouTube came at the time when rumors made rounds on the Internet that Selena Gomez is dating Miley's ex, Nick Jonas. And, perhaps prompted by those reports, the teen singing sensation posted the new footage last week on YouTube.

Nick Jonas, of US band The Jonas Brothers, had a brief relationship with Miley last year, before they split under the pressure of work commitments.

In the media reports Gomez has been dubbed "The Next Miley Cyrus." But, the Hannah Montana star is perhaps jealous of Gomez’s this title. In a recent interview with Extra, Miley said, "I don’t think there could be a next Miley. I think they should be the next Selena, the next Demi ... [and] make their own way.”

Miley is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus is no alien to scandals. The teenaged actress/singer made headlines few months ago when her barely dressed and nude photos popped up on the Internet.

On April 21, a set of Miley’s eyebrow-raising pictures was released on the Internet featuring her in the arms of a young male friend, and pulling up her white tank top to reveal a lacy, green neon bra. Then she posed topless and wrapped in what appears to be a satin bedsheet for Vanity Fair Magazine, inviting outrage from concerned folks across the nation.

However, later she apologized for bothe sets of racy pictures. “I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about," she said at the time in a statement through her publicist.

Disney pop princess last year also stirred the headlines with her racy pictures that made rounds on the Internet. In the shots, she was seen in her underwear, lifting up her shirt as well as sharing a piece of candy with a female friend at a slumber party.
