At the court, Commissioner Scott M. Gordon was hearing testimony in the child custody battle for her two sons with the children’s father Kevin Federline, which was not in favor of the pop star. Spears was denied, a restoration of the right to visit her two sons. Soon after she stepped out of her black SUV at the court, Spears looked around at the ogling cameras and reporters then got back in and apparently headed home. "Move back, I'm scared. Stop it. Stop it. I want to get back in the car. Just stop it. Let me get in the car, please!" she shouted, reportedly. Kevin Federline, Spears’ ex-husband was present at the hearing and he was given the extension of an emergency order that allows giving him the sole custody of the boys for the time-being. Spears will not have any visitation rights, until the next hearing, scheduled for February 19. “The word 'victory' is not something Mr. Federline or his counsel would subscribe to this result,” Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said. “Not that it wasn't the result he was seeking, but this was a grave situation for everybody. Mr. Federline is pleased that it's an appropriate order, but he is not joyous or victorious. His hope for the future is that at some point, he will be able to parent the children, the minor children, with participation from their mother.” According to court officials, six witnesses, including two officers called to Spears’ home Jan. 3, testified today. They avoided the discussion of details. Security, for the hearing remained abnormally tight. A metal detector was set up on the eighth floor of the downtown courthouse and reporters were not allowed to carry their cellphones into the courtroom. But the hearing was immediately closed. |
