Eddie Murphy ties knot with Tracey Edmonds

Hollywood comedian Eddie Murphy and film producer Tracey Edmonds on Tuesday got married on a private island in French Polynesia. Funnyman Murphy tied the holy knot with his fiancée on New Year's Day on a private island off Bora Bora, a Pacific island about 140 miles northwest of Tahiti.

In the sunset ceremony, nearly 25 guests, including Edmonds's parents Jacqueline and George McQuarn, her brother Michael, Murphy's mother Lillian Lynch and his brother Vernon, were present to bless the married couple.

Wearing a custom-designed form-fitting dress by stylist and designer Sugia Nazel and Jill Baracci, designer and owner of Baracci boutique, the bride walked barefoot down the aisle to Gladys Knight's "Makings of You." For the wedding, Murphy wore a cream suit and vest with an off-white handkerchief.

As per the reports surfaced today, R&B singer Johnny Gill served as Murphy's best man, and actress Nicole Avant, served as the maid of honor. Edmonds reportedly gave her bridesmaids gold and diamond earrings from XIV Karats in Beverly Hills, and Murphy gave his groomsmen D.Atlantis watches.

Edmonds, 40, and Murphy, 46, started dating last fall and were engaged in July, just weeks after Edmond’s divorce from her then-husband, singer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. This is the second marriage for both Murphy and Edmonds.

Edmonds split last year with her Grammy-winning singer-producer husband Kenneth "Babyface" and has two sons with him, while Murphy was divorced from his wife of 13 years, Nicole Mitchell, in 2006 and is the father of five, four with his ex-wife Nicole.

Edmonds is a film producer whose recent credits include “Who's Your Caddy?” and “Good Luck Chuck”.

Soon after his split from Nicole, Murphy, an Oscar nominee for the movie musical, "Dreamgirls," began dating Spice Girl Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown, and started dating Edmonds while Brown was pregnant with his child. However, Murphy did not acknowledge paternity until four months after the baby was born. Melanie Brown of the Spice Girls gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown on April 3, co-incidentally sharing a birthday with her reluctant father.

A DNA test in June revealed the child is his, but paternity had not been legally acknowledged. Brown, who has listed the actor as the father on the birth certificate, has said she is still fighting to get Murphy to act like the baby's father.
