Aspyr media confirms PC/Mac version of Guitar Hero III

Aspyr media inc., a company that specializes in bringing the video games on Mac OS platform, announced Tuesday its partnership with video game maker Activision and RedOctane to bring Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock to the PC and Mac platforms.

Aspyr Media said it will bring Guitar Hero III to PC and Mac this autumn in association with Activision, the Santa Monica, California-based leading designer, publisher, and distributor of interactive entertainment software, and publisher RedOctane.

This means, besides the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii platforms, Guitar Hero III, the latest installment in the wildly popular franchise “Guitar Hero”, will now be available on two more platforms: the PC and Mac.

“Aspyr’s expertise in developing and publishing for these platforms means that we will deliver a game that wails just as hard as it does on consoles but feels natural on this audience’s chosen platform,” said Ted Staloch, Executive Vice President, Publishing for Aspyr.

Developed and published exclusively by Aspyr, these new versions will feature the same rocking experience found in other versions and some explosive new content as well.
The musical video game, Guitar Hero III will come embedded with more than 70 songs, several new modes, including a multiplayer action-inspired battle mode, boss battles, unlockable content, an online multiplayer mode, original artists’ recordings and authentic rock venues.

The Game will also feature new wireless guitars, based on Gibson Guitar's Les Paul model for Wii, 360 and PS3, and Kramer models for PS2. In order to give gamers greater feel and rocking experience, these guitars will come bundled with removable face plates that will allow fans to personalize their guitars and make it their own and a new button color design that is integrated for an even greater authentic feel and rock experience.

The title, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on PC and Mac is awarded with T ratings (for Teen) by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB), the video game industry's self-regulated ratings board.
