Official Release Date for Halo 3 and Messenger Kits Announcedby Daisy Sarma - September 1, 2007 - 0 comments
The official date has been set for the launch of Halo 3 and Xbox 360 Messenger accessories in the retail market. For gaming enthusiasts in the US, the magic date is September 4, 2007. On that date, they will be able to pick up the Halo 3 Limited Edition Wireless Controllers and Headset as well as the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit. While the special edition of the Halo 3 Xbox 360 itself may not have been too high on the popularity charts of gaming enthusiasts, the controllers themselves are now going to come in multiple colors, with matching headsets to boot. So if you have an olive controller, you might have to shell out the standard $59.99 for a matching headset. The headsets have been designed by big league toy manufacturer Todd McFarlane. Todd McFarlane has also designed the controllers in two versions – Brute and Master Chief. Collectors are sure to rave about them, given that they come along with a Master Chief figurine as well. Another item enthusiasts are definitely waiting for eagerly is the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit. This has a plug-and-play keyboard and also a special headset. The keyboard, called the Chatpad, comes at a price tag of $29.99. You can plug it into the bottom of your controller. The other item in the Messenger Kit is the special headset. You can plug this headset into the Chatpad itself. This feature has been designed to make the entire setup a little less messy compared to the previously seen USB keyboard. User interest in these two items has already been peaking, with numerous enquiries about the release date. Now that the release date is out, one can expect a huge rush come September 4. Enthusiasts in Europe will have to wait a little longer, with the official launch of the controllers there scheduled for September 26. |
