Larry, Laurie David separate

Los Angeles -- "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star Larry David and his wife, activist Laurie David, have separated but both still occupy their Los Angeles home.

The two, married for 14 years, "remain the best of friends" a source confirmed E! News. There is no word on whether a divorce in in the offing.

The separation comes after Laurie David recently completed a much publicized tour with Sheryl Crow designed to highlight the benefits of green living and other environmental matters. She also was a producer on Al Gore's 2006 Oscar-winning global warming documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth."

"Seinfeld" co-creator Larry David will reprise his role on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" when the show returns for its sixth season later this year on HBO.
