" title="Paris's jail accommodations no Hilton"/> Lynwood, Calif. -- Paris Hilton, after glamming at the MTV Movie Awards, reported to Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies to begin serving her sentence for probation violation. Hilton, 26, went to the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles Sunday, two days before the court-ordered deadline, E! News reported. She was taken to Century Regional Detention Facility, an all-women's jail, in Lynwood, Calif., where she will serve 23 days for driving with a suspended license while on probation for a driving-under- the-influence charge. Hilton had been sentenced to serve 45 days, but a crowded jail system and a statute permitting time off for good behavior, her sentence was reduced. "I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation. During the past few weeks I have had a lot of time to think and have come to realize I made some mistakes," Hilton said in a statement released by her attorney. "This is an important point in my life and I need to take responsibility for my actions. In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make. Although I am scared, I am ready to begin my jail sentence." Copyright 2007 by United Press International. |
