Pa. considers wind farms on public landby MT Bureau - June 1, 2007 - 0 comments
Harrisburg, Pa. -- Pennsylvania officials say they may consider opening state forests and state parks to the development of wind turbines. Michael DiBernardinis, secretary of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, said his agency must first decide if wind turbine development is compatible with its stewardship mission, The Harrisburg Patriot-News said Thursday. DiBernardinis, speaking at PennFuture's Clean Energy Conference, said the DCNR lacks legal authority to allow wind development on public lands but would seek authorization from the Legislature.
