Timberlake launches record labelby MT Bureau - May 30, 2007 - 0 comments
Los Angeles -- Singer Justin Timberlake is going corporate, launching Tennman Records and serving as chairman and chief executive officer of the Los Angeles-based label. The multiplatinum, four-time Grammy Award winner launched the joint venture with Interscope Records, which will act as distributor, Jimmy Iovine, Interscope Geffen A&M chairman said in a news release Monday. Ken Komisar, formerly with Sony BMG Music Entertainment, was named Tennman president. "Whenever you have the opportunity to get into business with someone as gifted as Justin Timberlake, you take it," said Iovine. "We are thrilled to have his label as part of Interscope." Timberlake said, "I cannot wait to introduce the world to my new discoveries." Work is in development with several artists, Komisar said. Copyright 2007 by United Press International. |
