New York -- New York crude oil prices topped $66 a barrel Monday on growing concerns U.S. gasoline supplies won't be able to meet Americans' summer-driving demand.

Light, sweet crude for June delivery rose $1.33, or 2.05 percent, to $66.27 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for July settlement advanced $1.07 to $70.46 a barrel on London's ICE Futures Exchange. June natural gas prices fell 4.4 cents to $7.90 per 1,000 cubic feet. June heating oil added 3.57 cents to $1.9509 a gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock for oxygen blending fell 0.64 cent to $2.4013 a gallon. AAA said Monday the average U.S. retail regular unleaded gasoline price was $3.196 a gallon, up 1.8 cents from Sunday's $3.178 a gallon. Copyright 2007 by United Press International. |
