The trains continued to the next stop where they were met by emergency medical personnel, the Philadelphia Inquirer said. Several passengers were taken from the Temple University station on stretchers while others were wearing neck braces. The accident occurred downtown about 5 p.m. when a R6 train crashed into a R5 train on the same northbound track, the newspaper said. A Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority spokesman said none of the injuries appeared life-threatening. © Copyright 2007 United Press International |
