It would be such a huge message to not only the state of California but the entire country that pardoning this young lady would be a such a severe mistake. We all make choices everyday. Doesn't matter who we are or how much money we make, we all have to obey the laws of the land. Miss Hilton has not even a clue what it is like to make a living, know what it is like in the real world. All she seem's to know is party, party, spend, spend, pose, pose, make stupid sex tapes, and she is an embarrassment to our country.

This is a test in statesmanship for Arnold. We'll see if he will betray his voters. We will see if he aspires to be a statesman or a politician.
For Ms. Hilton: I suggest she shows her repentance by "donating" an amount commensurate to her wealth to a charity first and then as for people's forgiveness. To begin with, $10 Million sounds like a good starting point.

Come on people. Celebrities are above the law and should not be subject to the same punishments that common folk like you and I would be subjet to. I mean really, she said "I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all,". After all "I didn't know" is a perfectly sound legal defense. Isn't it? In fact I think the arresting officer, prosecuting attorney, and judge should all issue her a public apology for interfering with her career. Doesn't that sound reasonable to everyone?

I think everybody is missing the obvious here. Paris can serve her time AND still provide us with her beauty and excitement for our mundane lives. We come up with a new reality show, something like “Paris gets slammed in the slammer”. Mount multiple cameras in her jail cell, exercise yard, shower etc. and have a nightly show. Who knows, we might even rehabilitate some of the other inmates so they can have new carriers as reality TV stars when they get out. Any networks out there listening. Top ratings guaranteed. I’m willing to sell the idea real cheap!

It's a long time for not actually hurting anyone. I am surprised by the amount of negativity on here. It is true she broke the law, but throwing her in jail isn't teaching anyone anything (obviously, read the posts above).

The judge wanted to be famous. 45 days is just too long of a time to spend locked up when you haven't hurt anyone.

I just have to say that I agree with most of you on here!! I already can't stand Paris anyway, and now for her to think she will get off with no punishment just because of who she is....whatever. She is how old? 24/25? She doesn't even read her own mail!! She needs to grow up and start taking responsiblity for her own actions instead of blaming them on others.

Why should she get off without facing the legal punishment that you or I would face if we did the same thing? Paris is nobody, and the law should apply equally to EVERYONE, rich or poor, famous or not. I have NO sympathy for her. She broke the law while driving a car that cost more than most of us will ever make in our entire lifetime. She should do her jail time just like anyone else.

This is a woman who blatantly ignores the law and thinks of herself as the centre of the world. 45 days in jail is something she deserves. It will set a horrible example for everyone if we pardon someone just because she has the money to make noise in the media. Go to jail you skank. When you arrive at the County Jail, Rosemary the female guard will have her rubber gloves on to give you the cornhole. It won't hurt too much. Then you get to take a cold shower and fitted for your orange overalls. You will be locked up with another inmate who is probably a druggie or a prostitute. When they see you, they will want to make you squeal like a pig. Do your time, who knows maybe you will like women after this.
