Lansbury celebrates return to Broadwayby MT Bureau - May 8, 2007 - 0 comments
New York -- Actress Angela Lansbury's return to Broadway after a 25-year break came complete with the customary after-show party at Sardi's, The Hollywood Reporter said. The well-known night spot was packed Sunday night with actors, friends, family and critics, praising Lansbury for performance in "Deuce." The Reporter said Terrence McNally's new play is not one of his best, but Lansbury and fellow cast member Marian Seldes succeeded in "wringing infinitely more" out of the play than would be expected. Lansbury is in her first Broadway show in 25 years. She has won four Tony Awards best actress in a musical -- for "Mame" (1966); "Dear World" (1969); "Gypsy" (1975); and "Sweeney Todd" (1979. © Copyright 2007 United Press International |
