An Australian Academy Award-winning actress, Nicole Kidman has rejected a News of the World (NOTW) report that she is pregnant despite admitting in a tell-all interview with actor Russell Crowe in February that she is eager to have a child with her husband.
The rumors about the Hollywood actress were ignited after the London's News of the World last month reported that the actress was pregnant. "Nicole and Keith are having a baby," Woman's Day quoted an overjoyed friend saying.
The reports got fuelled when Kidman was spotted outside the St John's Health Clinic in Santa Monica, California, the same clinic where former Spice Girl, Mel B, gave birth last week.
In an interview when Crowe asked the Aussie actress "Are you going to carry a baby?" Kidman replied, "Yes, I would hope so."
"Well, I just want to see you walk around barefoot and pregnant," Crowe said. "I'd like to see that too," the 39-year-old actress replied with smile.
The Oscar winning actress and her New Zealand-born country singer husband Urban’s mutual friends had confirmed that after trying for a baby for a long time, they have finally managed it now.
However, Nicole's publicist Wendy Day denied the reports saying the actress is absolutely not pregnant. "She's looking forward to going outback and riding a horse and being here for seven months making a film. I hardly think she will be able to do that if she is pregnant," said Wendy Day. "As if she would confirm a pregnancy to News of the World."
The newspaper also reported Kidman had purchased baby stuff, including a $400 nappy bag, from pricey kids' retailer Petit Tresor. However, a better explanation for this shopping is that Kidman has bought all these baby goods for her new born niece. Her sister, Antonia, had given birth to her fourth child, Sybella, on March 28.
The couple arrived in Sydney Sunday and spent the day celebrating Easter with the family. "Easter is very important to me and spending Easter with my parents at home is a special treat," Kidman said.
The star couple is in town as Kidman prepares to film Baz Luhrmann's romantic adventure epic ‘Australia’, with co-star Hugh Jackman. Kidman starts work on Tuesday at Sydney's Fox Studios.
She'll be in the country for up to eight months, her longest stint at home since filming Moulin Rouge in 2000, filming with Jackman at locations in far-north Queensland, Darwin, Western Australia and Sydney.
However, the couple’s stay together will be brief as Urban is due to start a concert tour of Europe this month. He will head back to Australia to jet off National tour next month.
She is also well-known for her former relationship with Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise, as well as her current marriage to singer Keith Urban, to whom she got married in June 2006. Four months later after their marriage Urban checked himself into rehab for a three-month treatment for alcoholism.
Besides winning the Academy Award for 'The Hours', she is a three-time Golden Globe winner for Best Actress. In 2003, Kidman received her star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. In 2006, Kidman became the highest paid actress in the film industry.
Kidman has two children, daughter Isabella Jane born December 22, 1993 and son Connor Anthony, born January 17, 1995, who she adopted with her former husband, actor Tom Cruise.
Kidman’s two adopted children live with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.
Are you kidding? Tom Cruise is not who he appears. No way you can blame Nicole or Keith for Toms short comings - no pun intended.
