Jolie expands her " Beautiful Family", adds 4th child

The Academy Award-winning American actress, Angelina Jolie completed all necessary procedures with Vietnamese authorities on Thursday to adopt a boy from a Ho Chi Minh City orphanage, an expansion of the world’s most beautiful family.

Hollywood actress along with her three other children arrived in Vietnam on Wednesday night, and early on Thursday morning she went to the Tam Binh orphanage, along with her five-year-old Cambodian son, Maddox.

Then the actress collected her new son, whom she has renamed Pax Thien Jolie, from the Vietnamese orphanage after a short and tearful farewell. Jolie then moved to the nine-storey Justice Department building in the city centre to sign adoption documents.

The Vietnamese boy, who is almost three-and-a-half years old, had been registered at Tam Binh orphanage under the name Pham Quang Sang.

The adoption will be final once U.S. embassy officials in Hanoi approve the adoption documents. Jolie and Vietnamese officials have already completed paperwork in Ho Chi Minh City.

"Everything went really well. It was a successful event this morning," said Nguyen Van Trung, director of the Tam Binh orphanage in the city. "All she needs to do now is to travel to Hanoi to get the travel paperwork from the U.S. embassy for the boy."

Described by adoption authorities as healthy, the boy adopted by Jolie had been abandoned at the local hospital in 2003 and cared for since at the orphanage, Trung informed.

Jolie's adoption had been speeded up, partly due to her celebrity status, the senior officials said.

In November, Angelina along with her partner and Hollywood actor Brad Pitt visited the organization where they first met children at the orphanage.

The 31 years old actress filed adoption papers in early March through an unidentified American agency. As the Vietnamese law does not allow an unmarried couple to adopt a child so Jolie filed adoption papers as a single parent, because the couple is not married. Under Vietnamese law, a single person may adopt a child.

Movie icons, Brad and Jolie say they have no plans to tie the knot but are committed to raising their children together.

In Vietnam, it often takes up to six months for adoptions, but it can be fast-tracked, taking as little as one month, if background checks are quickly resolved along with confirmation the adopting family can support a child.

Jolie, a former fashion model, and a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency, has three other children, a son Maddox, whom she adopted in neighboring Cambodia in 2002, a 2 years old daughter Zahara, whom she adopted in year 2006 from Ethiopia, and a biological daughter, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, with Brad Pitt. Shiloh was born in Namibia last May.

Jolie adopted Maddox and Zahara before her relationship with Pitt, who has now adopted both of them.

Jolie, who is often cited by popular media as one of the world's most beautiful women, won an Oscar in 1999 for best supporting actress in "Girl, Interrupted". She starred in the 2001 movie "Tomb Raider" which was filmed in Cambodia, neighbouring Vietnam.

The hot couple starred in the 2005 movie Mr & Mrs Smith, an action thriller laced with comedy.

They are also working together on an upcoming 2007 film “A Mighty Heart” about the killing of a US journalist, Daniel Pearl by Pakistani militants.
