Brad Delp, the lead vocalist of the band Boston was found dead at his Atkinson home on March 9. His fiancée Pamela Sullivan informed the police about his death. He was 55.

According to the medical examination officers Delp’s death is not a suspicious case but the medical practitioners are still investigating. Some toxicology tests are stated to be done by Kim Fallon, an investigator in the Delp’s case. Police Lt. William Baldwin informed the media that, at the time of his death Delp’s fiancée was with her colleagues. She tried calling him up but after getting no response from the other side she went home and found him dead. Pamela and Brad were supposed to get married during the two day break in Boston’s 2007 Summer tour. Brad Delp was born on June 12, 1951 in Danvers, Massachusetts, USA. His life changed when he saw The Beatles performing on the Ed Sullivan Show. Delp auditioned for the lead vocalist for band Boston and immediately got selected. He along with guitarist Tom Scholz led to a spree of some hit songs. “Don’t look Back” was his first Album which came in 1978. After that he left the band Boston and joined another band named Goudreau where he launched his second album “Orion The Hunter” in 1984. In 1986 his next album came “Third Stage” with his original band Boston. Later Delp used to play with the Beatles cover band 'BeatleJuice.' The day he died he was scheduled to perform with the BeatleJuice in Somerville, Massachusetts. After Delp’s death his friends, colleagues made a statement that: “We have just lost the nicest guy in Rock N Roll”. Delp is survived by two children whom he fathered with his ex wife Micki Delp prior to his divorce. On behalf of Brad Delp the family released a statement on the night of his death stating, “On behalf of the Delp family and Brad’s fiancée, Pamela Sullivan, it is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Bradley Delp, the legendary vocalist of the rock band ‘BOSTON.’ Brad was admired and loved by many, known as the ‘man with the golden voice’ and recognized throughout the music community as ‘the nicest man in rock and roll.’ Brad will be deeply missed by (all) of his family, friends, fans and the entire music community.” “We ask that you please respect the privacy of Brad and his family during this time of grieving. The family will be conducting a private funeral service for Brad and a public memorial service will be announced at a later date,” stated Peggy Rose, Delp family spokeswoman. |
