" title="Wordy duel continues between O'Donnell and Trump"/> Rosie O’Donnell and Donald Trump resumed their wordy duel that began earlier this month regarding Trump’s handling of the Miss USA scandal, after the Christmas break calling each other the names possible. In her blog entries, Rosie raised her concern over the young women being exploited in the name of beauty contests by the old white men by asking them to parade around and then passing a judgment about their value. Further, she had commented regarding the Trump’s announcement about allowing Tara Conner to continue as Miss USA 2006, if she was willing to undergo rehabilitation. Tara Conner, a Kentucky native was crowned, Miss USA 2006 in April. Her habit of frequently visiting clubs, taking drinks, depraved style of living and everything she did was criticized by Trump, a co-producer of the beauty contest and a real estate businessman. She wrote, “a young girl in nyc/meets a pimp/he cons her into a life of illusion/she works for him." She also calls Trump, a hypocrite for judging Conner. Last February, Trump’s letter stating Stewart’s performance as terrible, and lacking appropriate timing, got leaked to Newsweek that publicized it two weeks before the commencement of “The Apprentice.” Before Christmas, Trump also did not leave any chance to blast and criticize Donnell’s comments, and appeared on five different Fox News Channel broadcasts. He told John Gibson that he was never a bankrupt, was on the Forbes Magazine Cover page, and was billion dollars worth on the “The Big Show”. Moreover, he threatened O’Donnell that he would coax her partner, Kelli Carpenter to get away from her on Larry King Live. After Christmas, he even fired back on O’Donnell, calling her a mental midget and a low life. He also added, “I think she’s got a death wish. It’s too bad a degenerate is able to get away with things like that.” Due to this duel, both Donnell and Trump gained publicity for themselves, and in turn, for their “View” and “The Apprentice.” |
