Traditional Christmas Day Speech to be Podcasted by Queen

Queen Elizabeth 2 is all set to address the Traditional Christmas day speech to the Commonwealth, stressing the relationship between generations and how diverse religions emphasize the need to care for and guide the young.

The Queen will also talk about what the young and the old have to offer each other and encourage respect of the elderly.

Not only this, the Queen’s speech will be available as a podcast for the first time. The speech was also filmed at Southwark Cathedral in London this year.

So all you people who want the Queen’s speech on your Mp3 players will just have to visit the Monarchy’s website www.royal.gov.uk and click on the link that appears on the website under the majestic title "The Royal Podcast".

The message will be sent to the subscribers at 3 pm when the speech will be aired. The people can however book in advance.

The Queen will say in her message: "The wisdom and experience of the great religions point to the need to nurture and guide the young, and to encourage respect for the elderly."

The rest of her message is not to be disclosed until it is aired. However, the preview showed her in a spring green outfit, helping school children make a collage of a nativity scene. She was also seen chatting with the young kids.

"It should twinkle rather well shouldn't it... especially when the lights are on it," the Queen says.

Buckingham Palace described this year's theme as highlighting "what old and young have to offer each other, how all faiths highlight the need to nurture and guide young people, and to encourage respect for elderly people."

Besides the Queen, the Monarch also delivered a speech to the British Armed Forces and their families posted across the globe on Christmas Eve.

Queen Elizabeth 2, born on 21 April, 1926, is the Queen of 16 Sovereign states, however, she is directly involved with the United Kingdom, where the royal family resides. Apart from the United Kingdom, Elizabeth 2 is also Queen of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

These 16 countries which recognize Queen Elizabeth 2 as their Monarch are collectively known as the Commonwealth realm. These 16 countries are in personal unity with each other.
