It’s raining Gaming consoles
It looks like the gaming fans this year have been showered with options with Sony’s PlayStation 3, Nintendo’s Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 all lined up for them, each offering something more than others, trying to gain an edge in the competition; the gamers never had it better.
Although not more than a week has passed since the launch of PS3 and Wii, they sold like hot cakes, both selling out on Day 1: Nov. 17 for the $500-$600 PS3 and Nov. 19 for the $250 Wii. The word is out that Wii is winning the race from the sexier but more expensive PS3.
While Nintendo claims to have sold 600,000 Wiis in the first eight days while Sony is estimated to have shipped between 125,000 and 175,000 PS3s to stores, way above from the target of about 400,000.
Besides the recent addition of accessories that take the gaming experience to new heights, Xbox 360 is rolling on with some really good 2nd generation games. A classic example of which is ‘Gears of War’ that has reportedly broken international sales records to become the fastest selling Xbox 360 game yet.
Nintendo's launch "has been probably a little better than expected and Sony's has been a little bit more disappointing," said American Technology Research analyst P.J. McNealy. "If you have to rank on who won this holiday so far, Microsoft is first, Nintendo a close second and Sony a distant third, which is a rare statement."
The major reason for PS3 lagging behind in the race seems to be the pushing back of several launch titles to later dates. Some gamers are not satisfied with the first generation new games, while others are complaining about the system updates required before going online and playing games.
Well, as of now not much can be said about the eventual winner as I’m sure the ones lagging behind will leave no stone unturned and bring up new ideas to attract gamers and take the lead but whosoever looses the race, with so much being offered the gaming fans are already feeling like champions.

MY CHOICE OF SYSTEM
Hello everyone i just wanted to say that for my christmas presents this year i have 2 choices(if u want to call them that). My dad is willing to buy me both a wii and xbox 360 but i only get the xbox 360 if there aren't enough wiis. My dad is the department manager at kmart and can reserve a wii for me if i need it. But personally im hoping that there aren't any since i want an xbox 360 more. But im happy with whatever i get.
