TomKats Wedding Celebrations on Full Swing

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are all set for their Saturday night wedding and the pre wedding star studded parties are going on in full swing.

The couple arrived at the Nino on Thursday night holding hands, and the ‘Mission Impossible’ star carried baby Suri. The two got their wedding celebrations off to a special start with a lavish dinner in Rome on Thursday night

The wedding couple was joined at Cruise's favourite eatery by 60 guests, including Jim Carrey and his partner Jenny McCarthy, Brooke Shields, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. Cruise's kids from his marriage to Nicole Kidman, Isabella and Connor also joined the dinner table.

All the guests had arrived in mini blacked-out vans, and after the lucullan dinner, they enjoyed the Champaign reception.

They then sat down for a three-course meal, specially prepared for the 42-year-old actor, while some 300 fans hung around outside.

"Fantastic" is how 'Mission: Impossible 3' and 'Lost' creator’ JJ Abrams described the evening to reporters.

It was surprising to see Shields attending the party but seems like the pretty actress has forgiven Tom after he apologized to her for remarks he made last year about her use of anti-depressants to treat post-natal depression.

According to Shields, the party was “mind blowing” and she was enjoying Rome “very much”.

Shield and husband Chris Henchy had a tough time getting out of a swarm of fans and paparazzi, which mobbed them a few moments later. However, the bodyguards helped them to a van which then sped the couple to the Hassler Hotel.

Cruise, Holmes, and their children remained until most of the celebrity guests had left.

Big Hollywood celebrities flew down to Rome on Thursday and the couple was also joined by the mother and father of the bride.

"We are very excited for Tom and Katie," said Martin Holmes, her father, while Kathleen Holmes refused to provide any information about the wedding dress.

According to insiders, bride's specially designed Giorgio Armani wedding dress has been replicated for Suri, who will be wearing a matching outfit to that of her mother.

The wedding is scheduled to be held at the 15th-century Odescalchi Castle and about 500 guests will be attending the much awaited wedding.

It is known that the couple and baby Suri flew down to Rome on Wednesday and sneaked out of the Hassler Hotel to have dinner with the city's mayor at Rome City Hall.

The visit sparked rumours that the couple were applying for a marriage licence. However, according to city officials, it was just a courtesy visit as the mayor is an ardent movie fan.

The wedding venue is located in Bracciano, a lakeside town some 40km north of Rome. The place is being adorned with fresh flowers, and Dal Bolognese, the star's favourite Italian diner, is providing catering for the event and are expected to provide pasta, parma ham and tiramisu.
