Master Chief Returnsby Prabhjot Singh - November 16, 2006 - 0 comments
He is five years old and a warrior in 2552. His aim is to protect the Earth from the forces of the Covenant and he is coming back in Spring 2007 to, ‘Finish the fight’. Yes, for all gaming enthusiasts Halo 3 the mother of all betas is going to hit you next spring. With Halo 3 beta to be available next spring, the beta will be available for select people, probably the ones holding ‘Gold Memberships’ with Xbox Live before the final product hits the racks later next year. A little disappointing but still whatever we get it will be Halo 3. The users will be playing a little multiplayer and simultaneously providing valuable data to help the development team at the Bungie studios. Halo, the award-winning and critically acclaimed science fiction epic adventure packed with action, it contains all the thrilling gameplay and rich story that has made it a smash hit with gamers all over the world. Halo 1 & 2 brought in $700m for Microsoft by selling 14.2 million copies. Those are not bad numbers at all especially if you are Residents of the ‘Halo Nation’ can mark December 4, 2006 on their calendars, that day on ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Football’ a 60 second ad of the upcoming Halo-3 will be flashed. Though it will not feature the gameplay, (another disappointment), but will flash an impressive array from the game but in CG mode. Still worth the watch I think. Its Halo 3 after all. Another bomb dropped by the studios said that they are unleashing more maps for the Halo 2, but they will only work on Xbox 360 (disappointments galore) and will cost to download. Expect them around the same time as the Halo 3 beta release next spring. Halo 3 will also be work only on the Xbox 360, take it as a pro or a con, they are giving you a fine chance to upgrade your console. As of now Xbox 360 is a clear winner as it had no competition since its launch last year but with PS3 and Wii on the doorstep this weekend we can at some numbers going here and there. The race for the winner will begin NOW. But if the Halo commercial can steal the thunder when its raining newer consoles all over it will be worth a pat on the back for the developers and the publishers. Jeff Bell, corporate vice president of global marketing in Microsoft's interactive entertainment business unit said that the demo should keep the Halo fans busy for a bit before the actual launch as their desire for more is almost insatiable. But we hope that the wait between the two is really not too long. What is Halo’s plot ? So, ready for the game ? To ‘Finish The Fight’. |
