" title="Xbox 360 gets update with 85 new enhancements"/> Microsoft in its latest press release on the Xbox 360 announced the Fall System Update which promises over 85 enhancements to the already existing system. All you have to do is to connect your Xbox to Xox live site and click ok to start downloading the update. Once the download is over, the system will begin to reboot itself. The update is the beginning of the 6th generation of the gaming network which remains the world’s largest online gaming and entertainment network with an affiliation of over 4 million users and will be available for download from 31st October and owners of the Xbox 360 console will be able to download it free of cost. The 85 new enhancements part of the update include support for the native 1080p games and movies providing them with the best HD resolution currently available. It also allows a faster Xbox Live Games Arcade list as well as streaming of VMW video from a PC-running Windows Media Player 11. Gamers now have the option to play video files from data CDs and DVDs, as well as from storage devices like USB 2.0 flash drives and Xbox 360 Memory Units. Then there are those amateur game developers who can now test and play self designed games created using the XNA Game Studio Express on their consoles when it releases later this year. The feature will be available with the next download expected later this year. Some other features of the update include: • The games in your Xbox Live Arcade collection appear almost instantly, allowing reduced time in playing online games. • The option of automatically download of newly released Xbox Live Arcade trial games eliminates the need to manually search for new downloads on Xbox Live Marketplace every time a new game trial is released. • A new sorting options has been added which groups games on the arcade according to “Recently Played” and “By Category.” • A new expanded Achievements View within Xbox Live Arcade lets gamers view their full Achievement details for their Arcade games including descriptions, icons, allotted Gamerscore and more, right from the Xbox Live Arcade dashboard interface. • Selecting “Play Now” feature after downloading a game in Xbox Live Marketplace now bypasses Arcade and takes you directly to the game allowing for lowered game time loss. • Xbox Live Arcade now offers a “Tell a Friend” feature using which you can inform people on your friend’s list about any game on the arcade. These are the highlights of the update released by Microsoft. If one needs information regarding the complete list of updates and features, please visit http://www.xbox.com/live. |
