Tom and Katie to marry Italian Style

Ninteen months of dating and courtship are finally going to end in style. Hollywood’s most famous unmarried couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have formally declared November 18 as their wedding date.

Italy is set to host the milestone moment in the couples lives with the eternal city of Rome being the most likely wedding location. A wedding in Rome will bring things full circle for the couple, as they were first photographed together in Rome in April 2005.

Things happened at a fast clip for Holmes. Soon after she broke off her engagement with Chris Klein in March 2005 she was proposed by Tom Cruise in a typical Hollywood style. Real life matched reel life when he asked her out atop Eiffel Tower in France on June 17 2005 where he presented Katie a large solitare diamond engagement ring.

Their first date reportedly was on his plane for a sushi dinner.

Although detailed wedding plans have not been announced, Katie is keen in a simple, traditional wedding. The couples wedding dresses are to be designed by Italian fashion icon, Giorgio Armani.

‘Mission Impossible’ hero had had a bumpy personal life. Cruise had been married twice before. He got marriage to Mimi Rogers in 1987 but their relation soon ended in 1990.

Cruise then met Nicole Kidman. The couple got married in 1990 and divorced in 2001. The couple adopted two children, Isabella and Connor.

Before dating Holmes in April 2005 Cruise was romantically linked with Penélope Cruz, the lead actress in his film Vanilla Sky. However, their relationship did not work and in March 2004, Cruise announced that his relationship with Penélope Cruz had ended in January.

However, the marriage with Tom Cruise will be the first for the 27 year old American actress. Holmes who was previously engaged to "American Pie" actor Chris Klein.

Cruise and Holmes already have their first child together. Holmes gave birth to a baby girl named Suri Cruise on April 18 this year.

Holmes first leading role came in Disturbing Behavior (1998) for which she bagged the MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance.

The actress has also been named by both the British and American editions of FHM magazine as one of the sexiest women in the world from 1999 forward. She also has the credit of being named one of People's "50 Most Beautiful People" in 2003.

Whereas, Tom Cruise is an Academy Award-nominated, Golden Globe Award-winning American actor and film producer.

Cruise made his acting debut in 1981 with a small role in Endless Love. He has been rated thrice (1990, 1991, 1997) by the People magazine among the 50 most beautiful people in the world.
