The King of 'Jungle 2 Jungle' settles down with his Jane
Tim Allen, the American comedian and voice-over artist, best known for his role in the sitcom ‘Home Improvement’ and Disney films, such as ‘The Santa Clause’ and ‘Toy Story’, has tied the knot with actress Jane Hajduk, his girlfriend of five years.
According to Allen’s representative, Marleah Leslie, the two tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony in Grand Lake, Colorado on Saturday.
The ceremony was very private and was attended only by the family members.
Among the guests, Allen’s daughter was also present at the wedding. Allen was earlier married to Laura Diebel from April 7, 1984 until their divorce in 2003; they have a daughter, Katherine, 17. Diebel once served as chief executive officer of Allen's tool line.
The 39 year old Hajduk, who has co-starred with Allen in his two most recent films-family flick remake 'The Shaggy Dog' and superhero fantasy 'Zoom', has walked down the aisle for the first time.
Allen, 53, is known the most for his ‘father’ roles. He began his career as a stand-up comedian and rose to fame with the television series ‘Home Improvement’ (1991-1999) on ABC in which he played Tim ‘The Tool Man’ Taylor.
In 1994, he starred in the highest grossing film, ‘The Santa Clause’, and had the best selling book in North America, ‘Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man’, simultaneously.
The following year he provided the voice of Buzz Lightyear in the blockbuster ‘Toy Story’. His ‘Home Improvement’ fame spawned Tim Allen Signature Tools, a line of power tools distributed by Ryobi.
Near the end of his show, Allen published ‘I'm Not Really Here’, a book detailing his thoughts on quantum philosophy, inter-gender relationships, and the male mid-life crisis.
He was also starred in ‘Galaxy Quest’, ‘Joe Somebody’, ‘Jungle 2 Jungle’ and ‘Christmas with the Kranks’.
His two arrests have made headlines too. On October 2, 1978, Allen was arrested with an accomplice at an airport in Kalamazoo, Michigan while possessing 1.4 pounds of cocaine. Due to the exceptionally large quantity of the controlled substance, he faced the threat of life imprisonment. Instead, Allen agreed to testify against his partner in exchange for a sentence of three to seven years in prison; he ultimately served only two years and four months.
On May 24, 1997, Allen was arrested for DUI in Bloomfield Township, Oakland County, Michigan. He pleaded guilty on June 16 and was fined, sentenced to a year of probation, and ordered to seek counseling.
As far as future projects are concerned, the Santa Claus will soon be seen donning the same red velvety suit in ‘The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause’, which will roll on floors on November 3, 2006.
Hajduk has previously appeared on TV shows like 'Monk', 'Chicago Hope' and 'NCIS'.
