Fall from steps lands Eva in hospital

It wasn’t a very good week for the Golden Globe Award nominated film and television actress Eva Longoria or better known as Gabrielle Solis in the ABC television series ‘Desperate Housewives’.

The madding rumours about the split with her boyfriend had just calmed down, when she injured herself while shooting for the series.

As soon as she left her dressing room, the 31 year old actress slipped down some stairs, sustaining minor injuries.

"Eva slipped on one of the stairs coming out of her trailer," said Lisa Anderson, Longoria's publicist. "Nothing is broken, but her ribs are very bruised.” she said.

Anderson added that after the accident, Eva was rushed to St Joseph's hospital in Burbank (California) for x-rays, and is expected to get back to work as scheduled.

She also snubbed away the rumours about Eva’s split with basketball star Tony Parker, saying that the actress is planning to meet him in France this week.

Eva has herself brushed aside the rumours, saying that they are very much together and the actress will join him in Paris where he's playing a series of exhibition matches.

She was earlier married to Tyler Christopher, ‘General Hospital’ star, from 2002 to 2004. Longoria has been romantically linked to SAG president Edward W V Stephens, successful writer Milan Gracanin, ex-NSYNC member JC Chasez, actor Mousir Syed and ‘Life As We Know It’ star, Sean Faris.

San Antonio Spurs, a spokesperson for Parker's team added, "I'll officially confirm that everything is great with Tony and Eva. Their relationship is as solid as ever... in fact Eva will be joining us for part of our trip to France."

Last week, a whirlpool of hearsays had risen, stating that Eva and Tony were undergoing a lot of problems.

Eva has become an internationally recognised model, appearing in several high profile advertising campaigns and numerous men's magazines.

She landed her first television role in 2000, guest starring in an episode of ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’. Another guest appearance in ‘General Hospital’ the same year preceded her big break in popular American soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless’, in which she played psychotic Isabella Brana Williams from 2001 to 2003.

She was even starred in ‘Dragnet’ and two ill-fated productions – ‘Senorita Justice’ - a poorly received direct-to-video film and a television film titled ‘The Dead Will Tell’.

It was in 2004 that her career was well and truly launched when she was starred as adulteress Gabrielle Solis in the worldwide break-out ABC hit ‘Desperate Housewives’.

This is not the first time Eva has injured herself on the sets. In August 2005 she was struck in the head by a piece of equipment while shooting a scene on a location at Pasadena City College and required immediate medical attention.
