Market opens in Green

Mumbai --Prompted with the blunt fall in crude oil prices the markets have opened on a positive note. In the morning trading session, the BSE 30-share Sensex has gained by 16 points at 11934 and NSE 50-share Nifty is up by 3 points to 3474. Zee Tele, SAIL, Hero Honda, Colgate, Hind Petroleum and BPCL are the major gainers among the 50-scrips of Nifty.

Asian stocks were mostly trading lower Monday morning. Nikkei in Tokyo was down 105 points at 15,974 while the Hang Seng in Hong Kong lost 47 points at 17,098. The Kospi in Seoul was down 6 points at 1348 while the Straits Times in Singapore plunged 4 points at 2505 but the Taiex in Taiwan jumped 103 points at 6796.

After announcing its intensions of acquisitions in US, Videocon has surged by 1.1% to Rs. 419. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 422 and a low of Rs. 417 and has recorded volumes of over 7,000 shares on BSE.

PSL has surged by 2.4% to Rs. 212 after the company won an order worth US$17.5mn from UAE. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 214 and a low of Rs. 208 and has recorded volumes of over 12,000 shares on NSE.

On the other hand, LML has slipped by 20% to Rs. 14 after the company stated on Friday that the net worth of the company as on August 31 has been completely eroded and has thus declared itself sick. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 16 and a low of Rs. 14 and has recorded volumes of over 13,00,000 shares on NSE.

Reliance Industries has plunged by 0.7% to Rs. 1123 as reports that the Government has asked the company to vacate 25% of one of the blocks in the Krishna Godavari basin. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 1134 and a low of Rs. 1121 and has recorded volumes of over 2,00,000 shares on NSE.
