Apollo Tyres & Banking stocks are up

Mumbai -- After opening in positive territory in the morning the market is still able in retaining its firm position.

Apollo Tyres has advanced by 4% to Rs. 317 after the Board of directors of the company approved selling Rs. 2.5 billion of securities. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 320 and a low of Rs. 306 and has recorded volumes of over 91, 000 shares on NSE.

After signing a Technical and Marketing Assistance deal with Gurgaon based E.I. Dupont India Pvt Ltd,the Chennai-based Indo Tech Transformers Ltd. has surged by 4.1% to Rs. 167. The scrip of transformer manufacturer has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 170 and a low of Rs. 162 and has recorded volumes of over 18, 000 shares on NSE.

Following the track of gainers, Banking stocks are also trading with smart gains. Canara Bank has rallied by 3.8% to Rs. 236 after the Board of Directors of the company intends to bid for United Western Bank, ICICI Bank has surged by 1.1% to Rs. 616 after the Board of directors of the company has given its nod for the plan to bid for United Western Bank., OBC has spurred by 1.6% to Rs. 197 and SBI has added 0.6% to Rs. 937.

Even after cutting the Aluminum prices by Rs. 2000 per ton, National Aluminum has standed firm in the trading. The company edged higher by 0.5% to Rs. 203. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 204 and a low of Rs. 202 and has recorded volumes of over 1, 00, 000 shares on NSE.
