Market floats in between ups and downs

Mumbai -- After witnessing a strong opening and trading firm in later morning, the market is floating in between ups and downs and came out with mixed results in the afternoon trading session.

Technology stocks are building up their momentum. Infosys has surged by 1.7% to Rs. 1803, Mphasis BFL has spurred by 2.3% to Rs. 186, Wipro is up by 1.7% to Rs. 523 and Satyam has added 1% to Rs. 820.

On the other hand, HLL has plunged by 2% to Rs. 235, the scrip is the biggest loser among the 50 scrips of NSE Nifty and has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 242 and low of Rs. 235 and has recorded volumes of over 20 lakh shares on NSE.

On the contrary, ITC surged higher on the back of huge volumes. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 185 and low of Rs. 180 and has recorded volumes of over 43 lakh shares on NSE.

Suven Lifesciences has slipped by 0.46% to Rs. 108. However, the company has signed an agreement with US-based Eli Lily for drug discovery. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 124 and a low of Rs. 108 and has recorded volumes of over 5 lakh shares on NSE.

Likewise, Sintex Industries has dipped by 1.2% to Rs. 172. The company chalks out Rs. 4.1bn expansion plan. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 178 and a low of Rs. 171 and has recorded volumes of over 41 thousand shares on BSE.

However, Hercules Hoists is up by 7.3% to Rs. 2193 after the company declared Bonus issue to the shareholders of the Company in the ratio of 1:1. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 2248 and low of Rs. 2050.
