Profit booking drags Pharma stocks

Mumbai -- After opening in negativity in the morning and than later trading with smarter gains, the market is floating in between ups and downs in afternoon trades.

On one hand, HPCL has gained by 4% to Rs. 267, the scrip is the biggest gainer among the 50 scrips of NSE Nifty and has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 271 and low of Rs. 258 and has recorded volumes of over 10 lakh shares on NSE.

On contrary, Dr Reddy’s Labs has slipped by 50% to Rs. 714, after the company’s lot size has been changed from 200 to 400 on account of stock split. The scrip is the biggest loser among the 50scrips of the NSE Nifty and has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 739 and low of Rs. 703 and has recorded volumes of over 2 lakh shares on NSE.

The huge volumes pushed Rolta higher. The company has gained by 3.2% to Rs. 227. The scrip has reached an intra-day high of Rs. 230 and a low of Rs. 220 and has recorded volumes of over 10 lakh shares on NSE.

Whereas, other Pharma stocks are down on back of profit booking. Among pharma stocks, Cipla has lost by 2.2% to Rs. 241, Sun Pharma is down by 1.2% to Rs. 886.

On the other hand, a declaration to pay dividend has helped ICSA India edge higher. The company has surged higher by 0.2% to Rs. 723 after it announced that they would pay Rs. 3 per share as dividend. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 739 and a low of Rs. 715 and has recorded volumes of over 38 thousand shares on BSE.

Similarly, an annouoncement of bonus issue has helped Tera Software to fly high. Tera Software has gained by 1.4% to Rs. 78 after the company announced that it would give one free share for every 4 held. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 80 and a low of Rs. 76 and has recorded volumes of over 1 lakh shares on BSE.
