‘Simpson’s’ honoured with its ninth creative Emmy
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards held in Los Angeles on Saturday, once again honoured ‘Simpson’s’ as the most comedy animated cartoon of the year.
It was the ninth time that ‘Simpson’s’ won the Emmy Award and beat the much controversial episode of ‘South Park’ in which The Church Of Scientology and follower Tom Cruise were satirized.
Al Jean, the Executive Producer of the animated series ‘Simpson’s’ came forth to accept the award and was elated to receive the prestigious award once again. He jokingly said "This is what happens when you don't mock Scientology."
‘Simpson’s’, which have been entertaining audience for 17 years now, won the best animated programme prize for shows lasting less than half-an-hour for an episode called The Seemingly Never-ending Story.
The Discovery Channel's ‘Before the Dinosaurs’ won the Creative Arts Emmy award for animated programming one hour or more.
The awards, which preceded the main ceremony, to be held the coming week, recognized achievements in the creative field.
The other winners included Cloris Leachmn, who was honored as outstanding guest actress in a comedy series for Fox's ‘Malcolm in the Middle’. NBC's ‘Will & Grace’ actor Leslie Jordan also won an award in the outstanding category.
For the best guest appearance in a drama series, Clarkson won the award for HBO’s serial ‘Six Feet Under’.
Christian Clemenson's work in ABC's ‘Boston Legal’ won him a best guest actor trophy.
In the ceremony, hosted by the comedy duo Penn & Telle, ‘Elizabeth 1’ was announced as the most honoured programme, winning five awards. HBO won as many as 17 awards in total and therefore won the award for best network.
