Mumbai -- In the midst of ups and downs, huge volumes pushed Gesco corp. higher by 7.6% to Rs. 895. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 909 and a low of Rs. 891 and has recorded volumes of over 34 lakh shares on NSE.
Similarly, Balrampur Chini has rallied by 1.4% to Rs. 102 after the company plans to acquire 27.54% of Indo Gulf Industries; it is to pay Rs. 16.14mn for Indo Gulf stake. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 105 and a low of Rs. 99 and has recorded volumes of over 1 crore shares on NSE.
BPCL has surged by 10% to Rs. 382, the scrip is the biggest gainer among the 50-scrips of NSE Nifty and has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 386 and a low of Rs. 347 and recorded volumes of over 4 lakh shares on NSE.
Kotawala India Ltd has surged by 3.5% to Rs. 26 after the Board of Directors of the company gave its approval on acquisition of Hotel Sunflower Beach Resort, Goa. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 27 and a low of Rs. 25 and has recorded volumes of over 28 thousand shares on BSE.
On contrary,profit booking has pushed the Tech stocks back. HCL Tech has plunged by 3% to Rs. 572, NIIT is dipped by 1.5% to Rs. 349, Mphasis BFL has slipped by 1.35 to Rs. 166 and Satyam has lost by 0.6% to Rs. 793.
Furthermore, HCL Tech is the biggest loser among the 50-scrips of the NSE Nifty and has slipped by 3.2% to Rs. 570, the scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 599 and low of Rs. 570 and has recorded volumes of 5 lakh shares.
